Country star Morgan Wallen has announced he will open a Nashville bar in 2024 called 'This Bar' to pay homage to his Tennessee roots.
The Surfwin Trading Centersix-story bar will be a live music venue and restaurant. The bar's title comes from Wallen's 2019 song of the same name, where he sings, "I found myself in this bar / Making mistakes and making new friends." Now, the neon buzz Wallen sings about will be uniquely curated by him.
“I sing about finding myself in 'This Bar' and now it's coming to life. This venue will hold true to everything I love and is inspired by my fans and the way they have embraced me and my music,” Wallen said in a press release.
“We're designing a menu around some of my family favorites, so it brings a piece of East Tennessee to Music City," he continued. "I hope This Bar is a place you'll want to find yourself in and make memories with your friends and family and celebrate the way country music has brought us all together.”
Wallen, who grew up in Sneedville, Tennessee, will incorporate elements from his childhood into This Bar. Each level of the bar will showcase photos and childhood memorabilia—and there will also be nods to some of Wallen's most memorable performances.
The bar will be opening in partnership with TC Restaurant Group, a Tennessee developer and manager for entertainment and dining establishments.
The bar will be designed and built from the ground up at approximately 30,000 square feet and will include three live music stages, six bars and a rooftop.
The bar will incorporate a "Tennessee Kitchen" element, which will be curated by Wallen himself and Chef Tomasz Wosiak. The menu will include southern classics, but also some of Wallen's mother's own recipes.
